The MeTHOOD Approach: Measures, Transformation Rules, and Heuristics for Object-Oriented Design
نویسندگان
چکیده
The MeTHOOD1 approach makes design knowledge tangible that will help to improve conceptual object-oriented schemas. Although some of this important knowledge is available in current literature, it is nearly unusable for designers. Therefore, we propose a catalogue of measurements, heuristics, and transformation rules, and introduce an effective integration schema for these elements. This integration schema is the base for a design optimisation process allowing designers to improve conceptual schemata systematically. Besides the integration schema and the process, this paper describes a design support system called MEx2. It consists of a design knowledge base (containing definitions of measures, heuristics, and transformation rules) that works on a specification database containing conceptual design schemas.

Declarative Semantics in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey
One of the modern paradigms to develop an application is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles in applications. In an application, we must distinguish between procedural semantics and declarative semantics for their implementation in a specific programming language. For the procedural semantics, we can write a ...
متن کاملDeveloping Reliable yet Flexible Software through If-Then Model Transformation Rules
Developing reliable yet flexible software is a hard problem. Although modeling methods enjoy a lot of advantages, the exclusive use of just one of them, in many cases, may not guarantee the development of reliable and flexible software. Formal modeling methods ensure reliability because they use a rigorous approach to software development. However, lack of knowledge and high cost practically fo...
متن کاملObjects Identification in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey on Techniques
Analysis and design of object oriented is onemodern paradigms for developing a system. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles. Identifying objects (and classes) is one of the most important steps in the object-oriented paradigm. This paper makes a literature review over techniques to identify objects and then presents six taxonomies for them. The f...
متن کاملHeuristics for Designing Object-Oriented Examples for Novices
Research shows that examples play an important role for cognitive skill acquisition, and students as well as teachers rank examples as important resources for learning to program. Students use examples as templates for their work. Examples must therefore be consistent with the principles and rules of the topics we are teaching. Despite many generally accepted object oriented principles, guideli...
متن کاملساختار دهی آنی دادههای مکانی ورودی GIS با تأکید بر عارضه راه
An important issue in implementation of a GIS system is preparation of data to be entered in GIS. To produce spatial data for GIS using photogrammetric techniques, conventional method is to apply photogrammetric and GIS systems individually (off-line procedure). This approach is costly, time consuming and somehow unreliable due to the fact that 3D photogrammetric model is not available at the ...
